Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Liquidiam. By creating an account or playing, you accept them. If you don't, please don't use the game.

1. Who you are dealing with

2. What Liquidiam is — and is not

Liquidiam is a game. Players compete in timed contests using simulated market data. Nothing you do in the game buys or sells a real financial instrument, and no position you take has any effect outside the game.

Liquidiam is not a broker, not an investment service, and nothing in it is financial advice. Prices, charts and results are generated by the game. Any resemblance to real market movements does not make them real, and no outcome here predicts anything about actual markets.

Matches are decided by the trading decisions players make. There is no wagering and no element of chance in who wins.

3. Your account

You must be 16 or over to have an account. Any competition with a paid entry fee will be restricted to over-18s.
One account per person. Extra accounts may be removed without notice.
Give accurate details when you sign up, and keep your password to yourself.
You are responsible for anything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

4. Fair play

You agree not to:

Use bots, scripts, automated trading, or any software that plays for you
Modify the game, or interfere with how it runs for anyone else
Arrange match outcomes with another player, or deliberately lose to shift ratings
Create additional accounts to play yourself or influence your own rating
Exploit a bug rather than reporting it
Harass, abuse or impersonate other players, including through usernames and voice chat

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and may reverse ratings or results obtained by breaking them.

5. Items you buy

The shop sells cosmetic items — clothing, accessories and desk decorations for your character. They change how your character looks and nothing else. They give no advantage in a match.

Buying an item gives you a personal licence to use it inside Liquidiam. You are not buying property, and you do not own the underlying artwork.
Items have no cash value. They cannot be sold, traded, transferred to another player, exchanged for money, or used as a stake in anything.
Items are tied to your account and are delivered to it immediately on payment.
If the game closes, items stop working with it. See section 8.

Immediate delivery and your right to cancel. Consumers in the EU and UK normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase. Because an item appears on your character the moment you pay, we ask you to confirm at the checkout that you want it delivered immediately and that you are giving up that right for that item. You confirm it yourself with a tick-box before paying, and you can decline and not buy. This does not affect the refunds we give in the situations listed in our Refund Policy, such as being charged twice or an item not working.

6. Coins

Coins are earned by playing — by winning matches and tournaments. They can be spent in the shop.

Coins cannot be bought with money and have no cash value. They cannot be withdrawn, exchanged, transferred, or converted into anything outside the game. This is deliberate and will not change.

7. Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Prices are shown before you pay and are charged in euro; your bank may apply its own conversion if you hold another currency.

Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Availability

We work to keep Liquidiam running, but we do not promise it will always be available. It may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control.

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the game. If we permanently close the game or remove a paid item you bought, we will give reasonable notice where we can, and refund recent purchases of anything removed.

9. Availability by region

Some features are not offered everywhere, and access may be restricted based on the country your connection appears to come from. Disguising your location to get around this is not permitted and may result in your account being closed.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using Liquidiam at any time and ask us to delete your account — see the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. Where we close an account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund any unused paid items bought in the previous 30 days.

11. Our responsibility to you

We provide Liquidiam with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss we cause by breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care, but not for loss that was not foreseeable at the time you started using the game.

Except where the law says otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months, or €100.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights the law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes those away.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do. For significant changes — such as introducing paid entry to competitions — we will tell you in the game before they take effect, and continuing to play afterwards means you accept them.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country's consumer law and may bring a claim there.

If something goes wrong, please contact us first — most things are resolved quickly that way.
